The Ethiopian Statistical Service (ESS) has released its official
Monthly Inflation Report for November 2018 Ethiopian Fiscal Year (EFY),
indicating a significant decline in inflation across the national economy.

• Year-on-year general inflation:
  10.9%
  (Down from 16.9% in November 2016 EFY)
• Month-on-month general inflation:
  –1.4%
  (Compared to a –0.8% decrease in November 2017 EFY)

Year-on-year inflation:
10.6%

• Vegetables: 10.2%
• Meat: 14.8%
• Sugar, jam, honey & chocolate: 18.6%
• Milk, cheese & eggs: 14.2%
• Oils & fats: 18.9%
• Fruits: 14.1%
• Food products n.e.c: 19.7%
• Bread & cereals: –3.0%

Overall non-food inflation:
11.4%
