Household Budget and Laboure Statistics (HBLS)
The Household Budget and Laboure Statistics (HBLS) program of the Ethiopian Statistics Service (ESS) conducts nationally representative household surveys to produce official statistics on living standards, Laboure market conditions, household welfare, consumption, and poverty. These statistics provide essential evidence for employment policies, social protection programs, poverty reduction strategies, and national development planning.
The HBLS program generates reliable data on employment, unemployment, household consumption and expenditure, income, living conditions, access to basic services, and child Laboure. The findings support government institutions, policymakers, researchers, and development partners in monitoring socio-economic conditions and evaluating development outcomes.
