About the Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS)

The Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) is a nationwide study conducted every five years to gather essential information about the health and wellbeing of people in Ethiopia. It focuses on women aged 15–49 and men aged 15–59, and provides valuable insights into key areas such as:

  • Maternal and child health
  • Infant and child mortality
  • Fertility and family planning
  • Nutrition
  • HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections
  • Women’s empowerment
  • Other important health-related issues
