The Ethiopian Statistics Service, in collaboration with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), is conducting a training workshop on Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) for experts drawn from various departments within the institution.
Speaking at the opening of the training, the Director General of the Ethiopian Statistics Service, H.E. Dr. Bekere Shalle, emphasized the vital role of metadata in enabling data users to easily understand and effectively utilize statistical Data for its intended purposes. He directed participants to follow the training attentively and apply the acquired knowledge and insights upon returning to their respective departments, while expressing gratitude to COMESA for facilitating the training opportunity for the institution.
The training aims to equip experts with the standard and technical knowledge required to streamline the exchange of statistical data and metadata between countries and international organizations.The training is Conducted by COMESA experts, the session will run from November 2to 6, 2026, at the training center of the institution’s headquarters.
