The Ethiopian Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) is a nationally representative survey conducted every five years by the Ethiopian Statistics Service (ESS) to provide comprehensive information on the health and demographic status of the population. The survey serves as a key source of data for monitoring health outcomes, evaluating national programs, and supporting evidence-based policy and planning.
The EDHS provides reliable data on population health, fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, women’s empowerment, and other priority health indicators. The findings support government institutions, researchers, and development partners in tracking progress toward national and global development goals.
